Update!

So its been a while since i've updated the blog as i've been busy with my nephews christening one weekend then i was on a hen do the next! :-)

However, I have managed to make a few things during the week. The first being a few rings.
I made them by knitting the band in bright, colourful wool then adding buttons to make them eye catching.

As you can see, the knitted band makes the ring have a comfortable fit.

Taggie!

So, as I said in my last blog post, I have been asked to make my nephew a taggie. Ive been working on this for a couple of days now so I hope my sister in law, and you guys, like it!   :-)

The image above shows the detailed side of the taggie, which I personalised for my nephew.
I used the applique technique to do this with felt and embroidery.

Close up of the personalisation and embroidery.

I left one of the tags loose so that a dummy or small teddy could be tied onto it.

A view of some of the tags I put onto the taggie, using different coloured ribbons or fabric. They also have a different touch sensory to them.

This shows the fabric I used for the back of the taggie, as well as all of the tags again.

Im hoping to make some more of these taggies to sell on my eBay shop, just need to stock up on felt first! :-)

I also said in my previous post that I was working on a canvas for the bedroom. Im still working on the embroidery for it then i want to put some sort of border around it. Pictures will hopefully soon follow.

Ive also been working on a few small drawstring bags, which would be useful for holding jewellery or change or even storing any small items. Pictures of these will also be up soon.

Tea Cup Canvas.

Lately I have been working on two canvas' that involve incorporating patterned paper, embroidery and paint in one design. The images below show the teacup themed canvas. I am still embroidering the second one so pictured will follow.

The picture above shows the whole canvas as it would look hanging on the wall.
I think the pink ribbon separates the patterned paper from the painting above it really well.

This pictures shows a close up view of the quote, 'Enjoy Life Sip By Sip, Not Gulp By Gulp,'
as well as the painted an embroidered tea cup.

I put this image on to show the joining of the two separate parts of the canvas.

As well as these two canvas' I have also been working on a canvas to go in my room above the TV. I am currently embroidering leaves and flower buds, that match the wallpaper on the walls, in green and white. As usual photos will be up shortly.

My next project after finishing these canvas' is a taggie. This is a little comfort blanket for small children when they get to the age of grabbing onto things for comfort. The 'taggie' part of the blanket involves having lots of tags around the edges in different fabrics and colours to entertain. My sister in Law has asked me to make one of these.

Cushion Covers

I blogged recently that I had been asked to jazz u some cushion covers for my sister - in - law. Below are pictures of them before I started working on them...

I had two of each of these cushion covers to do, and I thought that the stripy one would look good with some embellishments and the plain green one would look good with some embroidery. Below are some pictures of how they tured out...

The pictures above shows the embroidery I did on the plain green cushions. I tried to add detail by using different shades of green and putting dots down the leaves.

The images above show the first stripy cushion cover. I have used beads, sequins and buttons to embellish it.

Above are images of the second cushion cover.
