New Cards!

Ive made some new cards recently and i thought id share them with you,

This birthday card has a wallpaper main feature which matches the colour of the card I used. I have also added a strip of ribbon with 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' on it.
This ribbon is also on the inside.
There are also sequins and beads stuck on down the sides of the wallpaper for extra detail.

This card has a very girly feel. I have used handmade paper down one side of the card and a piece of floral ribbon down the middle.
Happy Birthday has been put on using multicoloured plastic letters and flower sequins have been put down the right side for extra detail.
This theme follows through to the inside of the card.

Inside detail of the card.

This card can be used for any occasion but would be suitable for an adult.
I have used handmade paper for the background and brown buttons and sequins for detail.
This theme follows through to the inside of the card.

This card has the same theme as the previous card as it would be used for any occasion.
I have used handmade paper again and ribbon and sequins to match the colour theme.

Hopefully I will have photos of a canvas I have been asked to make up soon. It will have a flower theme and the main colour used will be cranberry.

Flower Canvas

For the past two days I have been making a flower canvas.
I decided I wanted to incorporate lots of different techniques into this canvas, so i started with drawing a main flower in the middle of the canvas. I made the flower really detailed with lots of pattern so that it would stand out. I also heavily embellished the flower and its leaves with beads and sequins.

I also decided to add more flowers and leaves to the left of the main flower. I did this by embroidering them into the canvas. The images below shows how I did this.

Poem Canvas

So I had some late night inspiration the other night and the images below show what became of it. :-)

This image shows the full canvas.
I glued a piece of brown paper to one side of the canvas to have a different coloured background and texture to it.
As you can see, I used different shades of brown when painting the background to give it an old theme.

The image above shows the quote I have taken from William Henley's poem Invictus.
I chose to use the last two lines of the poem as I feel they have the most significance.

Close up of the layered shades of brown and brown paper.

This image shows how I have layered shades of brown over the top of the black paint.
I did this because when I first wrote the quote on with black paint, it stood out too much from the background. I wanted the quote to blend on more so I layered different colours over the of of it.

Ive been busy making a few more birthday cards today. They all come with matching envelopes, take a look...

This is the first card I made. It has a handmade paper base with plastic letters spelling out 'Happy Birthday' and a button and tag main feature.
Comes with matching envelope and can be seen for sale on my Ebay page,

This is a closer view of the detail on the card.

Another bright, eyecatching birthday card! :-)

This card has a very bright multicoloured handmade paper background.
I have used the plastic letters to spell out Happy Birthday.

Teddy Bear Canvas

For the last two days I have been designing and making a teddy bear canvas which I have been asked to do for a friend of a friend.
I started by researching different images of teddies, but decided on a simple drawing, with lots of detail in the painting and embellishments.
Below are images of the final piece,
